As one might expect, it turns out the certain causes of death (heart disease, kidney disease) are underrepresented in the news and others (homicide, terrorism) are overrepresented.<\/p>\n\n<p>The visualization below, based off this data, is currently the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20190130111216\/https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/dataisbeautiful\/comments\/8cwcbu\/cause_of_death_reality_vs_google_vs_media_oc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">most upvoted post of all time<\/a>&nbsp;on Reddit&#8217;s r\/dataisbeautiful, at 100,000+ upvotes and has been viewed over 2 million times.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"602\" height=\"933\" src=\"http:\/\/owenshen24.local\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/death_time.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-106\"\/><\/figure><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi!
